Appropriates $2,500,000 in nonrecurring state funds to Edgecombe Community College for the 2019-2020 fiscal year to purchase equipment for the new Training and Recruitment Center.

Funds designated for equipment for training activities and meeting room audiovisual systems to complete construction of the 32,000 square foot facility.

Center will serve advanced manufacturing workforce development across Edgecombe County and nine surrounding counties (Alexander, Washington, Northampton, Hertford, Camden, Currituck, Chowan, Perquimans, and Pasquotank).

Center will support industry partners including Triangle Tire, Corning, and Carolina Connector through the Carolinas Gateway Partnership to fill approximately 3,450 anticipated job openings in the next 18 to 24 months.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2019.
