Reduces waiting period for expunction petitions of nonviolent misdemeanors from 10 years to 5 years, with petitions filed no earlier than 5 years after conviction or when sentence/probation/post-release supervision ends, whichever is later.

Establishes new 8-year waiting period for expunction of violent felonies and violent misdemeanors, with petitions filed no earlier than 8 years after conviction or when sentence/probation/post-release supervision ends, whichever is later.

Defines "violent felony" and "violent misdemeanor" as any offense not classified as nonviolent, allowing previously ineligible violent crimes to be expunged under specified conditions.

Requires multiple violent or nonviolent convictions in the same court session to be treated as a single conviction for expunction purposes if none occurred after criminal process was served.

Effective December 1, 2019, and applies to petitions filed on or after that date; maintains $175 filing fee for petition submissions.
