Transportation network companies must require annual vehicle safety inspections and provide customers with driver photo, license plate number, vehicle description, and real-time location after accepting a ride request.

TNC drivers must display their vehicle's license plate number in legible, contrasting font (minimum 3 inches) visible from the front of the vehicle during all TNC services, effective October 1, 2019.

TNC drivers must display company signage or logos readable at 50 feet during daylight and illuminated at night, or use Division-approved alternative technological identifiers, effective July 1, 2020.

Failing to display license plate information is an infraction punishable by a $250 fine, effective December 1, 2019.

Impersonating a TNC driver is a Class H felony if committed during another felony, or a Class 2 misdemeanor otherwise; assaulting a TNC driver during service is criminalized, both effective December 1, 2019.
