Department of Health and Human Services may seek a one-year temporary waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for federal time limits on able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWD) in the Food and Nutrition Services Program.

The waiver cannot be resubmitted for renewal without additional express authority from the General Assembly.

Department is authorized to submit the waiver after the federal blanket waiver expires.

The Department's authority to submit the waiver expires nine months after the federal emergency period is lifted.

Act is effective upon becoming law in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
