Appropriates $42,200,000 in nonrecurring General Fund monies to the UNC Board of Governors for allocation to UNC School of the Arts for planning, repairs, and renovations of the Stevens Center for fiscal year 2019-2020.

Funds shall support upgrades to plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems in the existing 77,500 square foot Stevens Center building, as well as improvements to theater sound, lighting, and stage equipment.

Renovation goals include preserving classroom use opportunities, improving patron experience, increasing venue turnover capability through stage house renovation, and enhancing backstage and rehearsal spaces.

Appropriated funds shall remain available until June 30, 2023, and shall not revert to the General Fund at the end of fiscal year 2019-2020.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2019.
