Authorizes doctors of medicine, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and doctors of osteopathy licensed in North Carolina to prescribe hyperbaric oxygen therapy to veterans with traumatic brain injury or posttraumatic stress disorder.

Restricts hyperbaric oxygen therapy prescriptions to FDA-approved hyperbaric chambers or devices with FDA-approved investigational device exemptions, and requires treatment to comply with standard approved treatment protocols.

Defines a veteran as a person who served on active duty for 180 days or more in any U.S. Armed Forces component and was discharged under other than dishonorable conditions, or was released earlier due to service-connected disability.

Permits any North Carolina veteran diagnosed with traumatic brain injury or posttraumatic stress disorder by an authorized medical professional to receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment in the state.

Effective October 1, 2019.
