In 2020, four members of the Wake County Board of Education shall be elected for three-year terms from Districts 1, 2, 7, and 9 established in 2011.

Beginning in 2021, all nine members shall be elected on a nonpartisan plurality basis in odd-numbered years from single-member districts established in 2011, with staggered terms.

Five members from Districts 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 elected in 2018 shall have their terms extended one year until the 2021 election, then serve four-year terms quadrennially thereafter.

Four members from Districts 1, 2, 7, and 9 shall be elected in 2023 and quadrennially thereafter for four-year terms.

Members elected in 2018 from Districts 1, 2, 7, and 9 retain their seats until their successors are elected and qualified.
