Winston-Salem's governing body may convey city-owned real property with or without payment to increase affordable housing for low- and moderate-income persons.

Property acquired through eminent domain cannot be conveyed under this authority.

Deeds may include restrictions requiring the property to revert to the city if it ceases to be used for affordable housing within a time period set by the governing body.

City conveyances require a governing body resolution adopted at a regular or special meeting, posted on the municipality's website at least 10 calendar days before the conveyance is executed.

This act applies to the City of Winston-Salem only and is effective when it becomes law.
