Amends G.S. 15A-626 to create a right for sworn law enforcement officers to testify before a grand jury when being considered as a defendant for crimes arising from their official duties.

Requires the district attorney to notify the officer by personal service at least 10 days before the grand jury session and inform them of their right to appear and voluntarily testify or present evidence.

Specifies that if the officer chooses to testify, they must be called to testify after all of the State's evidence has been presented to the grand jury.

Becomes effective December 1, 2019, and applies to all grand jury proceedings on or after that date.
