North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services shall increase the North Carolina Innovations waiver by a maximum of 500 slots, effective January 1, 2020, or upon Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services approval, whichever is later

125 of the new slots shall be reserved capacity slots distributed using the existing allocation formula

Remaining slots shall be distributed to local management entities/managed care organizations based on per capita population calculations, then to counties on the same basis, with slots filled on a first-come, first-served basis by waiting list length

$5,435,100 in recurring General Fund appropriations for fiscal year 2019-2020 and $10,870,200 in recurring funds for fiscal year 2020-2021 shall fund the additional slots

Act becomes effective July 1, 2019
