General Assembly honors the memory of Arlie Franklin Culp, Jr., and recognizes his service to his community, state, and nation.

Culp served nine terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives between 1989 and 2006, serving on committees including Appropriations, Health and Environment, and Public Employees.

Culp was a U.S. Navy veteran (1944-1946) who served as an aerial gunner on a Navy patrol bomber and earned a Good Conduct Medal.

Culp worked as a teacher, public health sanitarian, and soil and water conservationist for the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1961 to 1986.

Secretary of State shall transmit a certified copy of this resolution to Culp's family; resolution is effective upon ratification on June 18, 2019.
