Requires health care practitioners to wear identification badges displaying their name, recent photograph, type of license, and license expiration date when providing patient care, in readily visible type worn conspicuously.

Allows written identification displayed in the practitioner's office as an alternative to wearing a badge if the patient can readily determine the practitioner's name and license type from posted materials or brochures.

Prohibits deceptive or misleading advertisements and representations about a health care practitioner's license, certification, registration, education, or expertise.

Establishes violations as grounds for disciplinary action by licensing boards and allows injured patients to pursue injunctive relief in Wake County Superior Court, with each day of noncompliance constituting a separate violation.

Becomes effective October 1, 2019.
