Revises the geographically isolated schools formula in G.S. 115C-301(g1) to change qualification criteria from schools containing grades kindergarten through 12 to schools containing grades kindergarten through 12 or kindergarten through five, depending on the criterion met.

Allows the State Board of Education to allot additional classroom teachers to geographically isolated schools that meet at least one of three criteria: average daily membership less than 1.5 per square mile; location in a county with more than 150,000 acres of national forest; or location in a county with a national wildlife refuge and accessible only by ferry.

Mandates that teachers be allotted to geographically isolated schools on the basis of one classroom teacher per grade level, with remaining teachers in the school administrative unit allocated according to regular classroom teacher allotment formulas.

Applies exclusively to Currituck County Schools.

Takes effect upon enactment and applies beginning with the 2019-2020 school year.
