Expands eligibility for principal bonuses in the 2018-2019 fiscal year to include principals whose schools had D or F performance grades in either the 2016-2017 or 2017-2018 school year.

Principals meeting the expanded criteria receive bonuses at double the amount listed in the 2018-2019 Principal Bonus Schedule ($2,000 to $20,000 depending on school growth ranking).

Principal bonus amounts range from $1,000 (top 50% school growth) to $10,000 (top 5% school growth), with the doubled amounts for low-performing schools.

Bonus payments must be made no later than May 31, 2019, to qualifying principals employed as of October 1, 2018.

The additional payment is considered part of the original bonus under the 2018-5 law, not a separate or second bonus.
