Senate Bill 201 Summary

• Corrects a typographical error in S.L. 2005-141 by changing "Plat Book 79, 78" to "Plat Book 78" in the description of land annexed to the Town of Bolton.

• Removes a 260.73-acre tract (Tract One-East) from the corporate limits of the Town of Bolton, effective June 30, 2020, with property no longer subject to municipal taxes for taxable years beginning July 1, 2020 or later.

• Adds two separate properties to the corporate limits of the City of Dunn: a 6.285-acre parcel along Hodges Chapel Road and an 11.294-acre parcel off S.R. 1841, both effective June 30, 2020, with property subject to municipal taxes for taxable years beginning July 1, 2020 or later.

• Removes property identified by Onslow County Tax Identification Number 030419 from the corporate limits of the City of Jacksonville, effective June 30, 2020, with property no longer subject to municipal taxes for taxable years beginning July 1, 2020 or later.

• Preserves all existing tax liens and special assessments for affected municipalities, allowing them to be collected or foreclosed upon after the act's effective date.
