Requires county and municipal recreation programs to provide concussion awareness information and response protocols for sports activities involving bodily contact between participants

Mandates that concussion protocols be consistent with rules adopted by the State Board of Education for interscholastic athletic activities under G.S. 115C-12(23)

Provides liability protection for program directors, employees, and volunteers from civil damages unless their actions or omissions constitute gross negligence, wanton conduct, or intentional wrongdoing

Becomes effective October 1, 2019
