Appropriates $872,000 in nonrecurring funds and $100,000 in recurring funds to South Piedmont Community College for the 2019-2020 fiscal year to establish a career pathways initiative with Union County Schools at the Tyson Family Learning Center.

Allocates $672,000 for equipment including classroom computers ($60,000), industrial maintenance and mechatronics ($160,000), construction trade equipment ($75,000), welding equipment ($115,000), large equipment simulators ($250,000), and toolbox/cabinet ($12,000).

Allocates $200,000 to develop pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, and career design articulation agreements between SPCC and Union County Schools.

Provides $100,000 in recurring funds for three fiscal years beginning 2019-2020 for professional development programs for SPCC and Union County Schools staff implementing the career pathways initiative.

Appropriates $600,000 in recurring funds to Union County Schools to establish one site administrator, six teachers, and one security associate to support the career pathways initiative at the Tyson Family Learning Center.

Becomes effective July 1, 2019.
