NC S314

Authorizes county clerks of superior court to waive all costs and fees in guardianship and incompetency proceedings under Chapter 35A of the General Statutes when the need for proceedings arises from injuries sustained by a sworn law enforcement officer in the line of duty.

Adds new authority (17) to G.S. 7A-103 permitting clerks to waive fees listed in G.S. 7A-306 for petitioners in these qualifying proceedings.

Amends G.S. 35A-1116 to reference the new clerk authority in G.S. 7A-103(17) as an exception to standard cost assessment procedures.

Becomes effective upon passage into law.
