Department of Public Instruction shall conduct a study on the feasibility and potential outcomes of implementing a statewide year-round school calendar.

Study must analyze educational outcomes, summer learning loss, testing administration, dual enrollment in community college courses, travel and tourism impacts, seasonal employment effects, extracurricular opportunities, family and community scheduling, and implementation considerations.

Department may include analysis of any other areas deemed relevant to the feasibility and potential outcomes of a statewide year-round calendar.

Department of Public Instruction must submit a report with study results and any proposed legislation to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee by May 1, 2020.

Act is effective upon becoming law.
