Department of Public Instruction shall provide technical assistance to local school administrative units to reduce financial burden and time commitment associated with fulfilling national accreditation requirements for career and technical education programs

State Board of Education shall limit accreditation requirements for automotive service technology programs to only those accreditations required by federal law, specifically the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation

State Board must revise the North Carolina State Plan submitted to the United States Department of Education under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act to reflect these accreditation requirements for federal grant compliance

Act becomes effective upon passage and applies beginning with the 2020-2021 school year
