Defendants ordered to attend abuser treatment programs must begin attendance within 60 days of the order and a compliance review hearing must be scheduled for as soon as practicable after that 60-day period.

Clerks must issue a Notice of Hearing for the compliance review on the same day as the original order, and plaintiffs are not required to attend the 60-day review hearing.

Defendants may present written proof of enrollment and regular attendance at an abuser treatment program to the clerk before the 60-day review hearing, which will result in removal of the hearing from the docket.

Domestic violence protection orders expire at 11:59 P.M. on the indicated expiration date, unless specifically stated otherwise in the order.

Any subsequent court order entered supersedes similar provisions in protective orders issued under domestic violence laws, and any subsequent custody order under Chapter 50 supersedes temporary custody orders issued under the domestic violence chapter.
