Children of wartime veterans receiving Class I-A, I-B, or IV scholarships may use scholarship funds to pay for short-term workforce training courses leading to industry credentials.

Scholarships for State educational institutions now include tuition, board allowance, room allowance, institutional fees, and the cost of workforce training courses for specified scholarship classes.

Class I-B scholarship recipients whose veteran parent dies from a wartime service-connected condition before the scholarship is fully used may have their award upgraded to Class I-A for the remainder of eligibility time.

Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) definitions are modified to include regional PSAPs operated by two or more counties and municipalities, and PSAPs operated jointly by county or city governments with major military installations under intergovernmental support agreements.

Section 1 applies to scholarships awarded beginning with the 2019-2020 academic year; PSAP modifications apply to distributions for the 2019-2020 fiscal year and subsequent years.
