Allows licensed electrical contractors employed by local boards of education, hospitals, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to perform maintenance and repairs at all facilities at any time when directed by the employing organization, without restriction to specific property types or lease arrangements.

Clarifies that the electrical contractor licensing requirements do not apply to schools, hospitals, and nonprofits employing licensed personnel to conduct electrical work on properties they own or possess, even if portions are leased to other entities.

Permits individual licensed electrical contractors to maintain their licenses while employed by schools, hospitals, or nonprofits and to contract or perform work at the direction of these organizations for any building or facility owned or in their possession.

Adds explicit authorization in school property law allowing local boards of education to employ licensed electrical contractors for maintenance and repairs on school property, similar to existing provisions for plumbing, heating, and fire sprinkler work.

Effective upon ratification on July 4, 2019.
