Permits the Lincoln County Board of Education to align its school calendar with Gaston College's calendar, notwithstanding state requirements for opening and closing dates.

Modifies G.S. 115C-84.2(d) to add exception allowing local boards to align school calendars with community college calendars serving their city or county.

Enables high school students to participate in dual enrollment programs, Career and College Promise, and Career and Technical Education pathways by coordinating academic schedules.

Allows fall semester exams to be completed before winter break and facilitates collaboration between high school and college instructors for improved student transition to postsecondary education.

Effective upon becoming law and applies beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, limited to Lincoln County Schools only.
