Appropriates $50,745,000 in nonrecurring General Fund dollars to the Department of Public Safety for fiscal year 2022-2023 to provide one-time bonuses to local law enforcement officers.

Provides $1,500 one-time appreciation and retention bonus to full-time local law enforcement officers (sheriffs' deputies, police officers, detention officers, and telecommunicators) employed on July 1, 2022.

Requires local employing authorities (cities, counties, and other local subdivisions) to submit documentation by August 1, 2022 identifying eligible officers and certify funds will be distributed directly to those officers.

Mandates local employing authorities pay the bonus to each eligible officer by September 1, 2022.

Becomes effective July 1, 2022.
