Appropriates $500,000 in nonrecurring funds from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction for fiscal year 2022-2023 as a directed grant to the New Light Intergenerational Outreach Resource & Enrichment Center.

Funds expand the nonprofit's school suspension program serving Guilford County public school students, which provides supervision facilities, staff, conflict resolution and life skills training, and assignment completion assistance.

Requires New Light Intergenerational Outreach to report to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee by April 15, 2023, including staffing costs, facility expenses, number of participating students, enrollment school units, and program impacts on student performance.

Becomes effective July 1, 2022.
