Allows local boards of education in Asheboro City Schools, Cleveland County Schools, Gaston County Schools, and Randolph County Schools to schedule school opening and closing dates to coincide with community college calendars in their respective areas.

Changes the standard school opening date requirement from no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 to August 1, providing earlier flexibility for these four school systems.

Requires first semester examinations to be given before winter break.

Applies only to the four specified school systems beginning with the 2021-2022 school year.
