All private monetary donations for election purposes must be given to the State Board of Elections, and no other political subdivision may accept such donations without remitting them to the State Board within 60 days.

The State Board of Elections shall distribute private monetary donations equally among all counties in the state at the beginning of each fiscal year.

County boards of elections must use disbursements from the State Board exclusively for upgrading voting systems and equipment.

"Private monetary donations" are defined as all monies given by individuals or private organizations to support the conduct and administration of elections.

The act becomes effective July 1, 2022, and applies to private monetary donations received on or after that date.
