House Bill 130 Summary

• Authorizes the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to add the East Coast Greenway portion traversing North Carolina to the State Parks System as the "East Coast Greenway State Trail"

• Department shall support, promote, encourage, and facilitate establishment of trail segments on State park lands and lands of other federal, State, local, and private landowners

• On segments crossing property controlled by agencies or owners other than the Division of Parks and Recreation, the laws, rules, and policies of those agencies or owners shall govern property use

• Waives the requirement for adequate appropriations for land acquisition, development, and operations that normally accompany State Parks System additions

• State may receive donations of land and purchase needed lands for the trail using existing funds from the Land and Water Fund, Parks and Recreation Trust Fund, federal Land and Water Conservation Fund, and other available funding sources
