Requires active prison time for felony death by vehicle convictions, removing the previous allowance for intermediate punishment (suspended sentences) for Prior Record Level I offenders.

Requires active prison time for death by impaired boating convictions, removing the previous allowance for intermediate punishment for Prior Record Level I offenders.

Maintains existing felony classifications: repeat offenses are Class B2 felonies, aggravated offenses are Class D felonies, and standard felony death offenses are Class D felonies.

Requires courts to sentence aggravated felony death by vehicle and aggravated death by impaired boating cases in the aggravated range of the appropriate Prior Record Level.

Becomes effective December 1, 2021, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
