Appropriates $3,150,000 from the General Fund to the Department of Public Instruction for the 2021-2022 fiscal year to be allocated to New Hanover County Schools.

Funds will support construction of a facility to expand Southeast Area Technical High School's innovative curriculum in partnership with Cape Fear Community College.

Expansion facility will include culinary arts classroom, carpentry shop, makerspace, public safety spaces, computer labs, coffee bar, and career counseling center.

The $3,150,000 was originally included in House Bill 966 (2019) but was not received by New Hanover County Schools due to gubernatorial veto.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
