Full-time and part-time campus law enforcement officers employed by the University of North Carolina may enroll in courses tuition and fee-free, with the number of courses per year to be determined by the Board of Governors through regulation.

Full-time faculty members at the rank of full-time instructor or above and full-time staff members remain limited to a maximum of three courses per year tuition and fee-free.

Campus law enforcement officers are exempt from the three-course annual limit that applies to other university personnel.

Enrollments do not interfere with normal employment obligations and are not counted toward General Fund appropriations.

The act becomes effective upon enactment and applies beginning with the 2021-2022 academic year.
