HB 45 Summary

• Appropriates $2,500,000 in nonrecurring funds for fiscal year 2021-2022 to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources for renovation and expansion of the Power House facility at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer.

• Appropriates an additional $2,000,000 in nonrecurring funds for fiscal year 2022-2023 to complete the Power House renovation project.

• The Power House is the second-oldest structure at the museum and previously powered Southern Railway's largest repair facility and the Town of Spencer.

• Renovation will allow the museum to relocate outdoor programming space for shows, concerts, and festivals to a larger, safer area and create rental space for additional revenue generation.

• Act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
