Authorizes the Tryon Palace Commission to use third-party online ticket sale services for admission, special events, and other ticket sales at the Tryon Palace complex, with revenues credited to the Tryon Palace Historic Sites and Gardens Fund.

Expands Commission powers to include supervision, management, and maintenance of the Tryon Palace complex, its real estate, and collections in addition to restoration duties.

Establishes new Section 143B-72.1 authorizing the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to hire employees for Tryon Palace operations and requiring the Executive Director to be selected by the department secretary from candidates recruited and approved by the Commission.

Appropriates $100,000 from the General Fund to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources for initial third-party ticket contractor fees and promotion of online ticket sales.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
