Appropriates $55,000 from the General Fund for each year of the 2021-2023 fiscal biennium to the Department of Administration's North Carolina State Commission of Indian Affairs.

Creates one full-time assistant director position using recurring funds.

Assistant director will assist the Executive Director with day-to-day operations, management of state and federal programs, and administration of the state recognition program.

Assistant director will oversee cultural preservation activities associated with the Commission's work.

Effective date is July 1, 2021.
