Allows retired law enforcement officers in the Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System to return to work as school resource officers or elected sheriffs while continuing to receive retirement benefits without interruption.

Establishes two pathways for "in-service retired law enforcement officers": (1) currently employed deputies transitioning to school resource officer or sheriff positions, and (2) separated retirees rehired at least 90 days later without a pre-arrangement agreement.

Requires eligibility of at least 59.5 years of age and a minimum of five years of membership service as a law enforcement officer.

Permits continuing retirement allowance payments during employment with employee contributions to the Retirement System; upon final separation, the retirement allowance is recomputed based on total creditable service and contributions.

Exempts in-service retired law enforcement officers hired after separation from standard reemployment limitations and makes employing agencies responsible for any correction costs if compliance requirements are not met.

Takes effect July 1, 2021.
