Defines "telecommunicator" as a person qualified to provide 911 call taking employed by a public safety answering point (PSAP), including 911 call takers, dispatchers, radio operators, data terminal operators, or any combination of these functions.

Adds telecommunicators to the list of public employees eligible for line of duty death benefits under G.S. 143-166.2(1).

Creates a presumption that a telecommunicator's death is in the line of duty if the death results directly and proximately from a heart attack or stroke occurring during employment or travel to or from work.

Becomes effective July 1, 2021.
