Display the official "Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (POW/MIA)" flag at all state-owned buildings and public school buildings whenever the United States flag is displayed, provided the POW/MIA flag can be attached to an existing flagpole.

POW/MIA flags must be of suitable size and material and displayed in accordance with policies and procedures governing the display of State and United States flags.

The State shall purchase POW/MIA flags for state-owned buildings using the same procurement process as North Carolina flags.

Local boards of education may accept donations of POW/MIA flags or purchase flags with available funds.

This requirement does not apply to the POW/MIA flag flown over the State Capitol, which is governed by existing statute G.S. 143-345.9.
