Exempts specialty and multispecialty physician professional corporations from certificate of need (CON) review when acquiring magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners through purchase, donation, lease, transfer, or comparable arrangements.

Requires the MRI scanner to be used exclusively for patients of the acquiring physician practice or group.

Mandates that physician practices provide prior written notice to the Department along with supporting documentation demonstrating compliance with exemption criteria.

Becomes effective October 1, 2021.
