Department of Health and Human Services, in collaboration with Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, shall conduct a comprehensive study of veteran long-term care needs in North Carolina.

Study must include analysis of veteran population demographics and geography, current long-term care delivery methods, future veteran population estimates over the next decade, and projected care needs including medical, housing, and transportation.

Departments may contract with appropriate organizations as needed to conduct the study.

Report with findings and tangible, actionable recommendations executable at all government levels must be submitted to Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on General Government and Fiscal Research Division by February 15, 2022.

Act becomes effective upon enactment.
