Department of Health and Human Services shall conduct a study to determine actions the State may take to reduce the risk of Legionnaires' disease by minimizing growth and transmission of waterborne Legionella pneumophila

Study must identify all current State and federal statutory and regulatory measures relating to building water systems and public water systems

Department shall compare North Carolina's current framework to ASHRAE Standard 188-2018 and ASHRAE Guideline 12-2020 recommendations for managing Legionellosis risk in building water systems

Department must report findings, recommendations, and any legislative or regulatory proposals to the Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Health and Human Services by April 1, 2022

$10,000 in nonrecurring funds from the General Fund appropriated to the Department of Health and Human Services for fiscal year 2021-2022 to conduct the study
