Department of Administration shall acquire the Andrew Jackson School site in Weldon, owned by Weldon City Schools, adjacent to Halifax State Historic Site visitor's center for up to $50,000 on behalf of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.

$50,000 in nonrecurring General Fund appropriations for fiscal year 2021-2022 authorized to the Department of Administration for the property acquisition.

$50,000 in nonrecurring General Fund appropriations for fiscal year 2021-2022 allocated as a grant to Halifax Underground Railroad nonprofit organization to establish a museum supplementing the National Park Service's Freedom Trail Network to Freedom Program.

$150,000 in nonrecurring General Fund appropriations for fiscal year 2021-2022 provided to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources to secure the site and initiate preliminary planning for development complementary to the existing historic site.

Act becomes effective July 1, 2021.
