Designates April 24 of each year as Wounded Heroes Day in North Carolina

Honors Army Sergeant Michael Verardo, who was wounded by an improvised explosive device on April 24, 2010, while serving with the 82nd Airborne in Afghanistan

Recognizes Verardo's injuries, which included loss of his left leg, severe damage to his left arm, severe burns, traumatic brain injury, and required field blood transfusion

Acknowledges Verardo's recovery through 120 surgeries and multiple therapies, and his participation in adaptive athletics and community activities

Amends Chapter 103 of the General Statutes by adding § 103-16 and becomes effective upon enactment
