NC S190

Prohibits any person from possessing or carrying a dangerous weapon at a voting place, within 100 feet from the entrance to a voting place, or while in line to vote while the location is open and being used as a voting place.

Defines "dangerous weapon" according to G.S. 14-277.2 and "voting place" according to G.S. 163-165.

Violation of the prohibition constitutes a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Exempts law enforcement officers acting in discharge of their official duties from the prohibition.

Becomes effective December 1, 2021, and applies to offenses committed on or after that date.
