State Board of Education shall adopt a policy requiring public secondary schools (grades 6-12) to provide students with information on child abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse in age-appropriate formats.

Schools must distribute a document to all students at the beginning of each school year and post displays in visible, high-traffic areas containing warning signs of abuse, county social services reporting numbers, and confidentiality statements.

Information must include available resources developed under existing law, including an anonymous safety tip line application.

Charter schools, regional schools, and schools operated by the Board of Governors must implement the same abuse and neglect awareness policy.

The act becomes effective upon passage and applies beginning with the 2021-2022 school year.
