Allows Iredell-Statesville Schools to align their school calendar with the calendar of a community college serving the city or county in which the school unit is located.

Permits local boards of education to revise scheduled opening and closing dates to accommodate alignment with community college calendars, notwithstanding standard state requirements.

Standard opening date remains no earlier than the Monday closest to August 26 and closing date no later than the Friday closest to June 11, except for schools with modified calendars or those aligning with community colleges.

Applies exclusively to Iredell-Statesville Schools and becomes effective beginning with the 2021-2022 school year.
