Political subdivisions must notify local persons and businesses of construction, repair, or equipment purchase contracts valued at $50,000 or more being let for bid.

Notification must be sent by regular mail, electronic mail, or website posting to those with physical addresses in the subdivision's jurisdiction who have submitted a written request to the clerk.

Notice must be sent at least seven full days before the contract award date and include a description of the work or purchase.

Political subdivisions satisfy the requirement by providing documentation of good-faith efforts to meet the notification obligation.

The act becomes effective October 1, 2021.
