Department of Environmental Quality must grant or deny septage management permits within 90 days of receiving a complete application.

Septage management firms operating without a permit must cease operations and pay double the standard annual fee once they obtain a permit.

New septage operators and those inactive for 24+ months receive probationary permits valid for 12 months; the Department may revoke without issuing another permit for 12 months if violations occur.

Pumper trucks and vehicles used by permitted septage firms must meet federal and state highway laws or have maximum capacity of 21,000 gallons, and must be inspected and listed on the firm's permit.

Subsequent permit renewals for septage land application sites and detention/treatment facilities are valid for 10 years instead of shorter renewal periods.
