Creates the Task Force to Study Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs Task Force) consisting of 19 members including state agency officials, medical professionals, social services directors, county commissioners, and local education board members.

Task Force will be chaired by the Governor, administratively housed in the Department of Health and Human Services, and members will receive travel and per diem compensation.

Task Force shall study the extent, nature, and impact of adverse childhood experiences in North Carolina with focus on recommendations to address these impacts through state and local government, particularly regarding diversion from the criminal justice system.

Task Force must submit findings, recommendations, and any proposed legislation to the Joint Legislative Committee on Justice and Public Safety, Joint Legislative Committee on Health and Human Services, and Joint Legislative Oversight Committee by December 31, 2022.

Task Force terminates upon filing the required report or December 31, 2022, whichever is later.
