Requires North Carolina county and municipal recreation programs to provide concussion awareness information and response protocols for contact sports activities.

Mandates that each county and municipal recreation program with contact sports programs adopt a plan to address concussion awareness education and implement concussion response procedures.

Provides liability protection for program directors, employees, and volunteers from civil damages unless their actions constitute gross negligence, wanton conduct, or intentional wrongdoing.

Applies to sports activities in which participants necessarily come into bodily contact with one another.

Becomes effective October 1, 2021.
